I love this time of year. The first signs of Spring are appearing, the sun's coming out, the days are getting longer, and everything seems to feel so much lighter.
Recently, I've been getting this strange urge to deep clean and declutter my living space, although between you and me, sharing a house with two kids, two dogs and a husband means it's a near impossibility to get things clean and tidy and for it to stay that way. It's honestly more stress than it's worth..
So, I figured that more of an internal cleanse might be more attainable.
I love a good detox (in theory). I mean, who doesn't want to be full of energy, have radiant, glowing skin, sparkly eyes and to lose a few pounds in the process? In practice, though, it's a different story. I think I'd rather chew off my left arm. 😆
I consider myself to be quite a sweet-natured person (most of the time and not counting the PMT), but if I have to starve myself for a day or more, I turn into a complete monster. George (my husband) knows this only too well. Juice cleanses, and the like are just not compatible with me.
This is one of the many reasons I'm in ❤️ with Ayurveda. Ayurveda's approach to a detox (as with most things) is so much more gentle, and so suits me perfectly. (The old me who used to go to the extreme with everything, may not agree, but that's a story for another time!)
So today I thought I'd share with you a very easy to follow, yet effective spring cleanse which follows the Ayurvedic principles of a detox, but is super easy to do. I know myself that it can be easier to find an excuse not to, but PLEASE give it a go. You'll thank me for it!
