It's been a little windy and rainy here in the UK, but we hear that summer is on it's way! Summer brings us outdoor yoga, salty hair and long summer evenings sipping cocktails at dusk. 🍹🍹
Here's our summer wishlist to keep you inspired until those little rays of sunshine appear.
Herbivore Botanicals is my favourite skincare brand EVER! Their Lapis facial oil is perfect for summer when skin can be prone to redness and inflammation. Lapis Facial Oil contains Blue Tansy, a precious blue oil which holds a component called Azulene which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial that aids in reducing redness and clarifying the complexion.
Now, I only recently stumbled across this festival, but wish I’d have known about it sooner! To be honest, I get the impression (rightly or wrongly) of most yoga festivals being a bit too hippyish for my liking. Cue The Soul Circus which in my opinion, strikes the perfect balance. Get a sweat on in one of the hot yoga classes during the day OR indulge in the spa if you’re looking for relaxation. The evening can be spent sipping organic bio-dynamic wine or a glass of Moet from the champagne bar as the sun sets (LOVE the sound of that!), or at the counter bar drinking local brews, enjoying the DJ sets. Yes, this is MY kind of festival.
‘Happinez is for readers who are keen to explore and deepen their understanding, as well as gain insights into living a pure and stylish way of life’.
Another little gem I discovered recently is Happinez Magazine. Somewhat more stylish and unique in design than the typical Yoga Magazine, it offers interesting articles, interviews, travel reports, insights, recipes and exercises. It’s on the pricey side, (and one of my little indulgences at present) but well worth it.
I was recently scrolling through my Instagram feed when a particular post jolted me from my semi-comatose scrolling state. It was my friend @abagofnutsatatime posing in some luxurious setting. Not unusual for him, BUT these were particularly impressive back-drops. After some probing, I found out that he was ‘oh just spending a few days ‘vacation’ in the Como Uma Ubud in Bali'. Hmmm.. no, I wasn’t jealous at all. The mountainside Como Uma Ubud boutique hotel offers guided treks around the paddy fields each morning, free daily yoga classes, and spa treatments and is def the place to be to relax and rejuvenate. This will be my next holiday destination (WHEN I win the lottery! Hehe..).
No trip is complete without a Bunnies & Zen travel candle. Happy to go wherever you go, it creates the perfect atmosphere for your destination. The Make You Grounded travel candle is hand poured in the UK using 100% natural plant wax and pure essential oils. With carefully pulled notes of neroli and orange; it will help to soothe any jangled nerves after a long haul flight. It also doubles up as a body oil to soothe away any tension.
Wanderlustlife is another one of my fav independent brands which I discovered at the Om Yoga Show a few years back. I love the simplicity of their semi-precious stone necklaces. This turquoise faceted stone, attracts friendship, luck and happiness, making it the perfect talisman to take with you on your summer travels.
I'm loving this printed long sleeved bikini from Perfect Moment. It’s ideal for watersports (I always wanted to be a surfer!), SUP (that’s Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga for those not in the know!) and perfect to protect you from burning in the midday heat - after all that over fried look is not big or clever.
