Green tea 4g
Matcha 1g per cup
Put the green tea in a warmed pot. Add 500ml/18fl oz freshly boiled filtered wate left off the boil for a minute or two (green tea is best made with water around 80-85°C/175-185°F in order to retain its sweet and stringent flavour). Leave to steep for 3-5 minutes, then strain. Meanwhile, add the matcha powder to each cup. Once the green tea is steeped, pour over the matcha, whisk and serve. If you are using a good green tea, you will be able to refill the teapot for a second cup.
